“…Sources have told The Wrap that Lionsgate is now in talks to acquire the rights to adapt Hannah Kent’s period crime novel Burial Rites, which already has both Ross attached to direct and Lawrence attached to star.

Set in Iceland back in 1829, the story finds Lawrence starring as Agnes, a young maid who has been charged with brutally murdering her former master. Before her execution she is sent to live at an isolated farm, and while the family she’s living with is at first terrified of her, they later begin to get to know her and discover that there might be another side to the widely publicized story. The Wrap notes that there is also a key romantic element in the movie “that is expected to attract top-tier male talent.” – cinema blend
