You read the headline right!  David Fincher will be breathing new life into the defunct franchise as the director for the upcoming sequel. Initially, Paramount Pictures was ready to move full speed ahead after the film did so well in the box office banking $540 million world wide for the studio, which I’m sure came as a relief after the film’s budget suffered from reshoots due to production issues. Now, with Fincher at the helm for the sequel, World War Z 2, and Brad Pitt attached to produce and star in the film, the studio is finally ready to move forward with the franchise. Pitt and Fincher have a successful history of working with one another on Se7en, Fight Club, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button so the franchise is bound to do well.
